Nihon Yu is the judo suit for children that sits between Nihon Makoto and Nihon Rei. And that difference is mainly in the thickness of the waffle cotton gi.

Where the children’s and beginners judo suit Nihon Makoto is made of smooth cotton and the Nihon Rei of a heavier waffle cotton fabric, judo suit Nihon Yu walks the golden mean. This gi for children is made of a slightly less thick, but soft waffle cotton. It remains a sturdy judo-gi with a slightly lighter and more flexible wearing comfort than the Nihon Rei.
